Looking for the BEST Red Velvet Recipes?
You’re sure to find them in this batch (ha ha) of recipes sent to me to share from some great food bloggers!
But before you drool over the photos below, first I have to share a Red Velvet cake story with you:
Once upon a time, there was little girl who lived in the woods (of South Carolina),
who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead.
And when she was good, she was very, very good.
And when she was bad, well, you know . . . she was horrid.
.
And then one day, along came her prince (from 10th grade)
who, after 9 years, and a ‘come to Jesus’ meeting with her silly old mother,
asked for her hand in marriage.
Oh the joyous sounds that spread through the woods!
.
And when the big day was planned, the silly old mother suggested,
“Why not have your favorite cake for your wedding cake?”
The (now grown up girl) who was being very, very good, said,
“Oh yes, Mother dear, and that it shall be . . . a towering RED VELVET CAKE!
And they’ve lived happily ever after!
The End (or is it the middle?)
And yes, it is a true story of my beautiful daughter! I hope you enjoy the selection of ruby red velvet-y recipes below!

This is such a beautiful assortment of red velvet recipes, Roz! They would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, too. Thanks so much for showing my cupcake. Sorry it took me so long to thank you. I didn’t realize I hadn’t done that. I know I read the post awhile back. Probably due to Christmas craziness! I really appreciate it, though. Very fun reading about your daughter’s wedding cake and am so glad they are living happily ever after!
What a great red velvet collection! Hope you’re having a very happy holiday season!
I believe you are in Red Velvet heaven Roz.
You got that right Larry! Have a merry, merry!
Red velvet wedding cake? I’d get married again for that!
I would too Maureen. We order the same cake (much smaller though) from the same baker every Christmas now. A real tradition! Happy and merry Christmas!

My daughter would want a red velvet wedding cake, too! Terrific round up!!! Merry Christmas, Roz!
It’s a great cake that really surprises all guests, Liz . . . too bad it was so darn hot (105 degrees) that all of the icing melted!
Oh well, life in the South in the summer!
Roz

Ah thanks Karen . . . and they truthfully have been living happily ever after! We leave for Germany in a year, so lots of time to plan. But I’m sure going to head your way for suggestions!
Merry Christmas!
A very beautiful and festive RED round up, Roz.
Merry Christmas to you and yours too!
