Beautiful, Dangerous Southern Winter — Monday Morning Musings
What a winter we have all been having across the country!
Endless snow and dangerous ice!
Mother Nature is sure having her way with us this year, to say the least.
My sympathies especially for everyone in the Northeast, but I had to share some photos of this year’s beautiful, dangerous Southern winter as well.
This photo essay is my visual treat for my weekly Monday Morning Musings. I’ll share more about my fellow bloggers in a few weeks instead, since there’s truly a big snow storm on its way and in order to stay ‘fresh and timely’, I’m going to share shots of that white out! If you have photos that you’d like me to share next week from this winter’s snowy weather, please send them to me!
Many thanks to Larry, of “Big Dude’s Eclectic Ramblings“ for allowing me to share some of his gorgeous shots of Tennessee. My daughter teaches near Larry and has had nearly 2 weeks of snow days . . . I don’t know about you, but that is one heck of a lot!
Winter is beautiful in so many ways, so I hope you enjoy her captured for just a brief moment in time through the camera lens!
Stay warm!
.
Well you have definitely captured the beauty of winter!!! It looks pretty down south than it does here in NY.
Still, I look forward to the end of this bitter cold. Stay safe and warm, Roz!
Toodles,

Thanks for your kind comment Tammy! I’ve tried to reply back to you on the link of your name, but it does not lead me to you. If you stop back again, please let me know the URL of your blog or web-site so that I can visit you in return.
Thanks and I appreciate your visit to my blog!

Beautiful photos Roz, love the cozy fire at the end- it’s just what we need these days!
And now let’s hope that the endless rain stops . . . but not completely! It’s so beautifully green right now!
Great photos, Roz! But, I’d much rather see it in photos or on TV, and not in person! We have snow piled everywhere, nearly impossible to drive around corners with it pile so high. And cold… And more on the way tonight. Endless for sure, but it makes us appreciate Spring to the fullest! 🙂 Have a good week!
You and me both Pam . . . on TV and not in person is how I prefer to experience snow and cold. Thank goodness that spring is finally here!
Roz,
You’re not kidding about the endless snow. One week it snowed three times – luckily it was only a little bit each time but it’s hard work keeping up with it. Snow and ice look so pretty right after it finishes and the sun comes out and everything glistens.

So many people had it worse than we did and I’m sure that they are thrilled that spring is finally here!
Amazing that something so beautiful can be so dangerous! Those ice photos are stunning. Hope it warms up for you soon! 🙂
Thank you Betty! I’m with you on this: beautiful, but dangerous! Glad that spring is finally here!
I love the look of the ice clinging to the branches, especially in the morning before the sun gets to it and melts it away. Nice shots, Roz. Spring will be here before you know it, so let’s take heart in that.
I agree Linda, that winter is so beautiful, even though it has never been my favorite season. And oh now that it is spring, my spirits are so happy! Time to get outside, garden, get my fingers dirty, and eat fresh home-grown food!
Beautiful winter photos and that’s COLD!
Oh yes, Angie! It was certainly very cold indeed here this past winter! Thank goodness spring has arrived!
can you believe the weather here lately. I mean my parents live in Louisiana and they sent me pics of snow 4 inches deepe. Isnt that crazy!
Hi Jessica, Yes, the weather was crazy this past winter and I’m SO glad that it’s over and now having more time to get outside! Happy Spring!

Such beautiful pictures, Roz! I really enjoyed looking at them. I am experiencing winter vicariously through you!:) I went out for a walk today, and it was a little bit chilly, but not bad. We have to enjoy our weather now as summer it gets tough. Hope you can stay warm inside. Thanks for sharing your neck of the woods with us!
Thanks Shari! I like to live vicariously through your blog too! It’s so much fun!

So lovely photos, I wish winter here left us such incredible landscapes!
Hi Lily! Welcome to my blog! I am so grateful for your visit and kind comment! I just visited your blog and am now following . . . it’s AMAZING!
Roz
So beautiful when the sun shines on the ice but treacherous if you have to be out in it. Stay safe and warm.
Thank you Karen! it’s so wonderful for spring to finally arrive, isn’t it? I appreciate your visit and kind comment!

And here in the pacific northwest, spring is afoot. I can’t say I’m sorry!
I agree with you 100% Mindy . . . thank goodness this wicked winter is OVER! Happy Spring and planting!!!!
Roz
Your trees branches look very similar to ours – thanks for wanting to use my photos.
Hi Larry,
Oh, my thanks go to you! I loved all of your photos and would have loved to include all of them. You’ve got a great ‘eye’! Hope the weather doesn’t cause too many more problems for Tennessee, wow, you guys have really been slammed!
Roz
Beautiful shots Roz. Ice can create such lovely images, but I grew up in the south and know it can be treacherous. Two weeks of snow days in the south is unbelievable. Makes you wonder if they’ll have any summer vacation after that 🙂
Stay warm and safe Roz.
Sam
HI Sam,
You certainly have missed one whale of winter up here! But you’re right, it really is pretty. I envy you soaking up the warm sun in Florida! I have to admit, I’m hoping for a ‘snow day’ tomorrow. Just one! Don’t tell anyone 😉
