Aruba “The Happy Island” Adventure
By now you know that we don’t sit still for very long in this family. Don’t get me wrong, we love being home! But we have become travel addicts in the last 10 years and can’t wait to explore another corner of the planet!
So . . . it’s on the road again time! Or this time it’s ‘on the plane again’ since we have just flown into Aruba.
Our first visit.
Here’s where we’re at . . . just off the northern coast of Venezuela in South America. Last March, we discovered the Virgin Islands for the first time and absolutely fell in love with the Caribbean. So we’re back again . . . just on a different island to discover!
I’ll be posting some photos during the week while we’re here. We’re excited to experience the beautiful, pristine white sandy beaches, warm sunshine and tropical breezes, shopping (duty-free!) and the highly recommended places to eat that Aruba is famous for (TIP: Book early to get a table at some of these places)!
It’s the warm, turquoise waters of the sea, the softly swaying palm tree branches, and the soothing sand to wiggle our toes in the sand and to sleep under the bright stars that we’re here for. The beaches are famous for being immaculately clean with a few secluded spots left to simply hang out.
Truthfully, along with just sitting around a pool or on a sandy beach and doing nothing, dining in new restaurants and experiencing local cuisine is one of our favorite things to do while on vacay!

This will be the latest in our Caribbean island-hopping adventures. Aruba is different and unique from other islands because it is a desert island that has a dry, but balmy climate. Maybe I’ll have some good hair days here!
Maybe we’ll take a jeep trip through the jungle-covered, rocky ecosystem (on the trail of course), or immerse ourselves into the cultural vibes of this Dutch island. Who knows? We have no itinerary. Whatever we do, we know that Aruba has its own unique charms and out of the ordinary, unique flare! How fund does that sound?
A Caribbean destination that surely is not going to disappoint!
So come along with us for the next week in Aruba and experience how it lives up to its reputation as “One Happy Island”.

Wow, what a beautiful place, Roz! I’m so glad you get to do this, especially while it is cold during winter where you live. I didn’t know anything about Aruba so am glad to find out where it is. I hope you have a wonderful time!
This was our first visit to Aruba too, so it was a wonderful new experience, Shari.
